HOW TO TAKE GHUSL (RITUAL BATHE) IN ISLAM

Ghusl(Ritual bathe) means Bathing of the whole body without leaving any spot.

Ghusl is mandatory for any adult Muslim after having ;

  1. sexual intercourse even without the release of semen.
  2. discharge of semen, through stimulation or wet dream.
  3. (Haidoh) completion of the menstrual cycle, or (Istihaadoh) irregular bleeding.
  4. (Ghuslu Niffas) Post Natal bleeding after birth, and ghuslu mayyit(washing the dead Muslim).

It is recommended to perform ghuslu before the Friday prayer and Eid prayers, before entering the Ihram, in preparation for hajj, after having lost consciousness, and after formally converting to Islam. So how do we perform this Ghuslu?

HOW TO PERFORM GHUSL (EITHER JANAABAH OR OTHERS)

  1. The Intention (Niyyah) to clean oneself from impurity.
  2. Say ‘Bismillah’ (i.e I begin with the name of Allah’).
  3. Wash the hands and then the private parts
  4. Perform wudhu(Ablution) as you would for the prayer
  5. You should pour three handfuls of water on your head.
  6. Pour water over the rest of the body, beginning with the right side then the left

THOSE DEVOTIONS WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PERFORM WITHOUT HAVING RITUAL BATHE:

  1. We can not perform any solat (prayer)
  2. We can not go around (circumambulate) the Holy Ka'aba.

May Almighty Allah accept it as an act of ibaadah from us.
